Merkel acept\u00f3 la invitaci\u00f3n de asistir al 10mo aniversario de la Fundaci\u00f3n Auschwitz-Birkenau el 6 de diciembre, inform\u00f3 el diario Sueddeutsche Zeitung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
La oficina de Merkel confirm\u00f3 el plan, pero se neg\u00f3 a dar fechas ya que en general los viajes de la canciller se anuncian con una semana de anticipaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
El mes pasado, el Congreso Jud\u00edo Mundial otorg\u00f3 a Merkel su premio Theodor Herzl por sus esfuerzos para fomentar la vida jud\u00eda en Alemania y su apoyo a Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
La Alemania nazi asesin\u00f3 a m\u00e1s de 1 mill\u00f3n de personas en Auschwitz-Birkenau, en la Polonia ocupada, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. La mayor\u00eda eran jud\u00edos transportados al lugar desde toda Europa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
