El expresidente ecuatoriano Gustavo Noboa, muri\u00f3 este martes (16.02.2021) a los 83 a\u00f1os. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Noboa, presidente del pa\u00eds entre el a\u00f1o 2000 y 2003, de tendencia centrista, asumi\u00f3 el mandato por sucesi\u00f3n constitucional, pues era el vicepresidente cuando en enero de 2000 el entonces jefe de Estado, Jamil Mahuad (1998-2000) fue derrocado por una rebeli\u00f3n de ind\u00edgenas y militares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Noboa impuls\u00f3 la dolarizaci\u00f3n del pa\u00eds y renegoci\u00f3 su deuda externa. Posteriormente fue acusado de malversaci\u00f3n en relaci\u00f3n a esa negociaci\u00f3n y se exili\u00f3 en Rep\u00fablica Dominicana alegando una persecuci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
