En 2019 recibi\u00f3 el Premio Nacional de Cultura y el\u00a0premio Aquiles Nazoa en 2020. Indeleble su sello en la radio, su pasi\u00f3n bolivariana y su firma: \u201cLes narr\u00f3, Porfirio Torres<\/strong> \u00a1Gracias, maestro!, escribi\u00f3 el ministro a trav\u00e9s de su cuenta de Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El locutor muri\u00f3 en Porlamar,&nbsp;estado Nueva Esparta, en donde resid\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Porfirio Torres<\/strong> naci\u00f3 el 21 de septiembre del a\u00f1o 1940, en San Juan de Los Morros, Estado Gu\u00e1rico. A sus 18 a\u00f1os comenz\u00f3 en el mundo de la radio donde uno de sus mentores le indic\u00f3 que pose\u00eda una voz excelente para dicha disciplina. Con esa iniciativa obtuvo el certificado de Locuci\u00f3n dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sus inicios en la radio se dieron en el programa <strong>\u00abEl T\u00edo De Los Jiraharas\u00bb<\/strong> en Radio Tropical, donde animaba de forma <strong>gratuita.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luego, lleg\u00f3 a <strong>Radio Difusora de Venezuela y a Radio Capital<\/strong> como locutor de cabina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque el \u00e9xito y mayor relevancia lo obtuvo en el programa que a\u00fan se transmite por <strong>Radio Nacional<\/strong> y en el <strong>Circuito Onda y \u00c9xitos<\/strong> con <strong>Nuestro Ins\u00f3lito Universo<\/strong> cuya producci\u00f3n pertenece al tambi\u00e9n fallecido <strong>Rafael Sylva.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s del reconocimiento por \u201cNuestro ins\u00f3lito universo\u201d, en el a\u00f1o 2011 el programa radial llamado <strong>\u00abUn enigma llamado Bol\u00edvar\u00bb<\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n narrado por Porfirio Torres, con su inconfundible voz, gan\u00f3 el <strong>Premio Nacional de Periodismo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asimismo, Torres fue reconocido por el Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Cultura con el <strong>Premio Nacional de Cultura 2016-2018<\/strong> en la categor\u00eda Radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sus amigos y colegas hoy le recuerdan con admiraci\u00f3n.
