La fecha de homenaje fue acordada por la <a class=\"new\" title=\"Asociaci\u00f3n Venezolana de Periodistas (a\u00fan no redactado)\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Asociaci%C3%B3n_Venezolana_de_Periodistas&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">Asociaci\u00f3n Venezolana de Periodistas (AVP)\u00a0<\/a> tras el pedido de <a title=\"Guillermo Garc\u00eda Ponce\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Guillermo_Garc%C3%ADa_Ponce\">Guillermo Garc\u00eda Ponce<\/a>, quien hizo llegar su propuesta en <a title=\"1964\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1964\">1964<\/a> desde el <a title=\"Cuartel San Carlos\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cuartel_San_Carlos\">Cuartel San Carlos<\/a>, donde se encontraba detenido por rebeli\u00f3n militar.
